Four Reasons Why We Should All Love Scrunchies

Four Reasons Why We Should All Love Scrunchies

We all know it, I love, love, LOVE a scrunchie. You can catch me wearing them in my hair, on my wrist (sometimes both), and even using them as a make do clip to seal up the crisp packet.

I am well aware that the above string of words may make your eyes very wary when reading this following blog post … however, I just want to re-assure you that this information is research based, from both google and my girlfriends, and will provide you with an insight into why you should be making the switch to scrunchies (and tossing those nasty hairbands away!)

1. They're kind to the hair and will reduce hair breakage.

My scrunchies are made from fabrics (chiffon, viscose challis, crepe, satin and silk) that are soft and do not pull or tangle the hair. This not only means that you can wear your hair in whatever style your heart desires, but you can do so without compromising the health of your hair.

2. They won't leave kinks in your hair.

I can't be the only one who hates it when my hair kinks after having only washed it the day before. The good news - scrunchies are here to the rescue! Scrunchies have an extra fabric layer that creates a barrier between the elastic and your hair, dramatically reducing (or in my case, eliminating) those awkward kinks or strange waves in your hair after having it tied up.

3. You can match your scrunchie to your outfit.

This is my FAVOURITE thing to do, especially when it comes to different seasons, like Spring and Autumn, and holidays, like Christmas. Also, slight side note, can you believe there's only 18 Fridays left until Christmas!?

4. You can avoid that hair tie headache (if you know, you know).

According to a very good hairstylist, "ponytail headaches happen when your hair is pulled so tightly that it triggers that sensation to too many nerves underneath your hair follicles. Hair elastics tug and pull your hair into place, which can cause headaches, as well as hair loss and hair damage." To prevent those dreaded tension headaches, this hairstylist suggests using a scrunchie as an alternative. Plus, there's enough things in life that give us headaches - we don't need our hair being one!

For me, scrunchies are the ultimate hair companion. They serve as a great accessory (for your hair or wrist), whilst also doubling as a perfect haircare aid and tripling as a way to jazz up for your outfit.

If you haven't already, go grab yourself a scrunchie. There's plenty for you to choose from ;)
